Cord Angel

In today's technological world, "cord management" is part of everyday life and should be easily accessible to everyone. "Cord Angel" products are the first of their kind, created to simplify cable interactions for all users — especially those with limited or reduced dexterity and both physical and mental limitations.

About a year ago I began working on the product, and thousands of hours and hundreds of iterations later, I have successfully created the first Cord Angel — and I can't wait for you to try it out.

Why Cord Angel?

Think about this with me. What if you had to ask someone to plug in your phone, computer, iPad, headphones, drone charger, Xbox controller, etc., every single time? As someone with a disability, I have learned that one thing infuriates many of us more than anything else: having to ask for help.

One benefit of the "Cord Angel" is that it not only allows users to potentially ease the use of everyday electronics, but to do so more independently — which for someone who has to have help with everything, is a huge achievement. Many people often resort to different methods of plugging things in themselves — using their mouths, devices, desks, and so on — in ways that are not sanitary, safe, or sustainable, often resulting in broken cords and devices, or worse. This is just two major benefits among many that "Cord Angel" products can offer.

My Story

When I was 16, I had a swimming-related accident which has rendered me paralyzed. I am in a wheelchair and I am a huge tech nerd. I've mastered different ways to do a lot of things, but I constantly struggle with one common challenge: "cord management." I searched everywhere for a product that addresses this problem, but none existed. I reached out to fellow disabled friends and colleagues and learned that none of us had a solution. Until now. Until "Cord Angel."

This product is for anyone who may struggle with dexterity due to age, physical and mental limitations, and so much more. With your help, I will bring my idea to market and solve this problem for those affected once and for all.

Inspired by Innovation

A few years after my accident, I had the opportunity to work with Microsoft on their "Xbox Adaptive Controller" as a beta tester, and I saw firsthand how they approached the issue of adaptive gaming. When I had my accident, there were no accessible gaming products that truly accomplished the goal of reintegrating those with disabilities back into the world of gaming — and it was infuriating. I loved being able to offer my expertise with the hope that I could change someone's potentially negative experience into a positive one.

This is the same frustration and desire for a solution that drove me to create the first "Cord Angel."
